  • Raw or Well Done?

lotusThe Inspiration behind W.O.M.E.N. E.O. Inc.

Have you ever cut yourself and have the opened wound – that 'raw' area - exposed to air, wind, moisture and particles? It can be quite painful, can't it? Many times, when the wound eventually heals and closes, one barely notices that there was ever a wound at all; and the elements no longer bother the place where the wound used to be.

Depending upon how deep the wound was though – if hit, touched or nicked the right way, the area could easily open again.

With life and our stories of abuse – be it verbal, physical or mental; comes a level of "rawness." Open and closed "wounds." I'm certain many of us have them; it's just a matter of whether or not we have allowed them to heal. These wounds may also manifest into other forms such as rape, battering, divorce, depression, attempted suicide, single parenting.

    How do you counter Raw?

You cook it. I know because I have lived each of those items on the list above. The operative word is, lived! I have survived each of these…in the heat, and in the midst of the turmoil. I survived and I am now here to tell my story – God's story of how He allowed me so many opportunities and testimonies to share with each of you reading this today.

My experience is actually how W.O.M.E.N. E.O., Inc. was founded. It's the "oven" and the seed used to fully cook any rawness that may now come into my life. I know that it is a story that I will need to share with someone – I know that I must be strong in order to reach the next.
